It was challenging to adjust to civilian life, especially when you also have a family that is also transitioning. What didn't work in your job search? Trying to start the transition to a civilian by yourself. I had very limited knowledge and experience of the retail industry such as 7-Eleven; however, I gravitated to their philosophy of the servant leadership principle. To lead, we serve. It's a big idea and it makes a tremendous difference in the lives of the customers, the franchisees and the licensees. What military skills do you apply to your civilian job? Being dependable, organized and reliable has assisted me in adjusting to this career. Best advice for transiঞoning service members? Once the decision is made about leaving the military, it is critical to properly prepare by utilizing the military resources, transitioning workshops and networking pipeline to ease this process. It is also valuable to connect to those veterans who have successfully transitioned from the military.
