Why did you separate from the military? I wanted to spend more time at home with my growing family. Why did you choose this career path? I found that this career could offer the best earning potential with a minimal amount of education requirements. How did you get your current job? I was recruited out of CDL school to drive a flatbed truck for TMC Transportation. I worked hard to become a driver trainer, and then was asked to represent the company to the next generation of drivers. What worked best in your job search and what didn't work? I took advantage of the transitional classes leaving the military, which opened my eyes to the transportation industry. Did you use social media in your job search? Yes, I did. Social media helped me understand companies and their culture, and made it easy to connect with employees from the past as well as current employees. How many interviews did you face with your current employer? For my current position, I had a phone interview and a formal interview. What was the hardest interview quesঞon you were asked? "Why are you the right candidate for the job?" Best advice for transiঞoning service members? Trust, but verify. Always do your research!
